Zombie Apocalypse Resources

Zombies are depicted in modern culture are slow moving, unintelligent, unemotional creatures that have a single goal of converting all humans that are not like them into zombies or destroy those humans they cannot convert. They have no mercy and are non-communicative. Zombies are by to noise and movement. Zombies typically act as a herd with no independent thought other than destroy humans. The only way to destroy a zombie it to destroy what remains of their brain, preferably by decapitation. The only way to destroy the zombie virus is by burning the bodies.

This web page is a partial list of the available Zombie Apocalypse Resources. There a couple of resources that deserve special attention. The first is the CONPLAN 8888 Pentagon's Zombie apocalypse plan is described by Forbs. The second is the CDC Center for Disease Control and Prevention also has information on Zombie preparedness. While these resources are presented a "training exercises" one has to wonder if the government knows something the public does not.

Centers for Disease Control and Prevention

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), a national public health institute in the United States on May 16, 2011 published a graphic novel Preparedness 101: Zombie Apocalypse. The CDC also has a Zombie Preparedness for Educators. Now you are wondering why the CDC developed a plan for a Zombie Apocalypse? The question was answered by The Atlantic on May 20, 2011.

CONPLAN 888

The Department of Defense Joint Operational Planning and Execution Systems (JOPES) on April 30 2011 developed CONPLAN 888 COUNTER-ZOMBIE DOMINANCE. This copy of CONPLAN 888 has some insight why the plan was developed at the beginging of the document.

The purpose of the plan is describe as follows:

"This plan fulfills fictional Contingency Planning Guidance (CPG) tasking for USSTRATCOM to develop a comprehensive JOPES Level 3 plan to undertake military operations to preserve "no~zombie" humans from the threats posed by a zombie horde. Because zombies pose a threat to all "non-zombie" human life (hereafter referred to as "humans"), USSTRATCOM will be prepared to preserve the sanctity of human life and conduct operations in support ofany human population-including traditional adversaries. CONPLAN 8888 -lntellipedia https~(b)(3) -P.L. 86-36 NSA 4 of26 '2. (U) Purpow:' This plan fulfills fictional Contingency Planning Guidance (CPG) tasking for USSfRATCOM to develop a comprehensive JOPES Level 3 plan to undertake military operations to preserve "no~zombie" humans from the threats posed by a zombie horde. Zombie Apocalypse Drills

Several institutions have had the Zombie Apocalypse drills The University of Michigan had a drill on March 25 (year not provided). San Diego had a mock Zombie Invasion on October 30, 2012. The University of Nevada held a Zombie Apocalypse Preparedness Drill on April 3, 2019. According the Independent the UK on the other hand apparently has no idea on how to respond to a Zombie attack. North Liberty held a daylong training session on Surviving the zombie apocalypse. With all of this attention to the Zombie Apocalypse by the government and other institutions, I wonder if there is something that the public is not aware or concerning zombies. I am not alone. On February 24, 2011 Popular Science published an article titled Could Scientists Really Create a Zombie Virus This article discusses the requirements to create a zombie virus.
